King Chiaullee
is a Manx folk group based in the Isle of Man. It was started 5 or 6 years
ago when a member (The ONLY member at that time - Gilno) threw a tantrum
and refused to play his penny whistle solo in front of a school assembly.
With slight persuasion, i.e. with the use of a stick, and the addition of
two members (Adam and David), he agreed to perform. To their amusement,
the performance turned out to be twice as painful than originally
expected. They decided to set up a group which then later expanded in a
somewhat comical fashion, introducing Matt and Russell, to five members
(you'll have to see the pictures)
Their repertoire includes
music from a variety of Celtic countries and through the years has varied
in style. In more recent years the band has grown somewhat deformed,which
is unfortunate for them yet very fortunate for their style of music; that
is, in their last tour (to L'Orient Interceltique) they expanded to 7
members and 'Went Heavy'. Take a journey through this site to view
